Applicability of Carbonized Coconut Shell and Silicon Carbide Nanoparticles in the Synthesis of Hybrid Aluminium Matrix Composites

The synthesis of agro-waste reinforced metal matrix composites is now very common among researchers because their cost effectiveness, excellent properties and wide industrial applications. This study synthesized a hybrid aluminium 6061 composite with particulates silicon carbide, SiCp carbonized coconut shell, CCSP as reinforcement combined in the ratio 1:1, determined effect combining CCSp reinforcements different sizes weight fractions on density, hardness, strength microstructure developed composite. were using stir casting method. Several samples consisting AA6061 alloy 3, 6, 9, 12 15% by wt. each particle produced characterized. Also, mathematical models proposed for predicticting hardness tensile nano-composite validated comparison results physical experiment those other authors. obtained showed that addition to decreased its density but increased nano-particulates presented maximum improvement ultimate values value. microstructures materials revealed uniform distribution reinforcing particles base bonding between after casting. agreement experimental data. should be suitable high strength/light applications required automobile aerospace industries.
